The Old Town and Riddarholmen
About Stockholm Stockholm is the Capital of Sweden. It is placed in the beautiful Mälardalen, surrounding the Lake Mälaren, who for centuries has been the main transportroute in this part of Sweden. It has a beautiful arcipelago, just outside the city. Stockholm also has the amusementpark Gröna Lund, the Zoo and folkloremuseum Skansen, and many other museums. Stockholm was founded around the tower Tre Kronor, by Birger Jahrl, in the 11th Century. It has since then, been the centre for government and Crown in Sweden.
